after reading a couple articles about how lapping the GORB helped I decided to give it a shot. used 500 grit, 1000 grit and 1500 grit. don't have a temperature diode so i'm not sure how much of a temp change it made but i'm quite happy with the results. my 566 previously need 1.95v to do 950, now it only needs 1.85. it took 1.8 to do 850 and now it does it at 1.6 . not bad for $3 worth of sandpaper 😱)

Thats impressive!! The only thing I don't like about lapping heatsinks is they tend to oxidize and though I dont know if it hurts things or not, but it does dis-color the heatsink compound as well as the heatsink.
