Lapped My Alpha and my Temps dropped 8 Degrees

I never lapped my heatsink, only removed it once to clean it out and that was 6 months ago. I lapped it up to 2000 grit sandpaper and got a very fine mirrior finish. My Alpha Pal 8045 had a small dip where it sat on the core because of all the pressure. Before I was running 52 degrees now it runs 44 degrees. I'm running my Xp1900 at 2100+ speeds and its running cooler now than it did when I was running it at stock speeds.

Did you check if it was completely flat instead of just reflective?

I think you had other problems too 8 degrees from a lap...

Not much, if any. I'd guess 1, maybe 2C if the heatsink was poorly milled from the factory.
