Chief should have fired them while still on the scene.

He cant do that.
Theres a whole process for determining if they acted illegally or out of policy then review boards then appeal boards.

Same shit happened about a mile from my house a few years ago, also right before Christmas. Gangster cops got trigger happy on a car thief and killed a six year old in his own home. And of course they lied about her having a gun, which was never found since it almost certainly never existed. But gotta say that shit so you can fear for your life when killing someone over a car.

And nothing changes...

Qualified immunity is the main problem. Cops just arent scared of the courts.
In fact I bet thats what happens with the 14 year old girl. They were shooting to stop a dangerous suspect. The judge won't even hear any arguments on this.

What I'd love to have explained is why were they shooting at someone in a department store that was presumed to have assaulted someone. Don't they have tasers for shit like that? Or are they just executioners for anything above petty theft now?

Exactly shooting at the suspect indoors??? Only if they were attempting to hurt or kill someone should shooting at them be warranted

theres use of force rules they have to follow whether they want to or not. Generally speaking you go one up in deadly force.
A knife is a deadly weapon. If a suspect pulls a knife on you there is no TASER, there is no baton. You go straight for your gun. Now, I still cannot find anything in the news about this guy pulling out any kind of weapon, we will have to wait and see. And frankly modern American news is terrible about following up on most of their stories.

Idiotic, given that any human can beat another human to death if sufficiently motivated. Extra idiotic given that if a cop brings a gun into an altercation, that gun can be used against him, which gives that cop every motivation to just shoot the suspect so his gun cannot be used against him.

Apparently the only solution is to just not give cops guns.

I can't tell from the story if the assault on the woman was still in progress when the police arrived. We also do not know if these police had tasers, and if so, if they tried to use them. All we know is that at some point, he assaulted a woman with a metal cable and severely injured her.

Will reserve judgment until all relevant facts are known. There is no basis in the available information for doing otherwise unless you are driven by bias one way or another.

Yes. BLM and democrats should have been chanting "disarm the police" after George Floyd.

"3. Be sure of the target and what is in front of it and beyond it. Know the identifying features of the game you hunt. Make sure you have an adequate backstop — don't shoot at a flat, hard surface or at water." Also be aware of anyone that may pass into your line of sight.

If you break one of the gun commandments you should lose access to your weapons. If that incident results in the killing of another innocent human you should lose permanent access to all firearms period.

Also, if two or more cops are on the scene and the suspect doesn't have a gun at least one of the cops should try a non-lethal method of apprehending the suspect. The other cop/s can keep their guns on the suspect and only fire if absolutely necessary like when the suspect pulls a gun, comes at any of the officers with a weapon or goes for a random citizen. This is the country I want to live in.

Suspect dead also.

Used a bicycle lock to assault the woman, but no details on injuries to her.

Calls for help reported shots fired, but no weapon was found.

We do know something about her injuries. Your article says they were classified as "moderate to serious" which means she was badly hurt, but not fatally.

Your article also says that video of the incident will be released Monday. We'll know more then.

Bottom line -- the LAPD screwed up bigtime! Doesn`t matter what you believe.....you never fire in a crowded store unless somebody's life is at risk!
With that said -- the officer involved will be exonerated......that's how this works!

Pretty much. No charges for the pos cops who killed a six year old in my neighborhood either.

This case is another example of clear-cut involuntary manslaughter at a minimum, except they be the police.

But police have been granted extreme privileges and near immunity - anything short of an execution caught on video is effectively permitted.

Less than 1% of the roughly 1000 fatal shootings by police each year are ever even attempted to be prosecuted in the US.

but hey: it works on the TV when Arnold Szwarzennegar does it as a "hilarious but disgruntled cop!" back in the 90s, when today's chumps grew up worshipping "being a cop on TV" ...and that's basically when their education on the world ended.

So here's what they're dealing with.

Here's the response.

3 pistols and a shotgun. No fucking wonder someone innocent got killed, probably lucky it was just one.

EDIT
Even worse, later they show a small army of cops with various shotguns and pistols. For one fucking guy. I guess it was a slow day.
