Lantastic on DOS and Windows 98

Does anyone have any experience with Lantastic troubleshooting? I've got a situation where a server (node1) can access files on a different server (node2), but node2 cannot access node1. They see each other, but node2 cannot browse node1. I'm not having much luck with the lantastic manager, but then, I'm not sure what I'm looking for in here configuration-wise.

Are there any other softwares which are capable of networking between DOS and windows with printer and data-serving capabilities that you guys could recommend?

I have seen it used it, but it is too wide to cover by one single recommendation. Symptom can be caused by hardware driver got corrupted.
