The P5P800 is definitely LGA775. I'd choose the P5P800 (and I did) just for the Utilities on the CD-ROM. There are some things that make OC'g a sweet dream. AI Booster etc.
I've never tried OC'g because it meant playing with various BIOS settings; multipliers; Ram settings etc. But; these utilities do it for you and promptly. Currently my 530J P4 3.0 is running at 5% OC'd 3.15Ghz. and no glitches. The next setting is 7% which I may try soon. So far this system of OC'g is fool proof; maybe even nooB proof. My Ram is GeiL PC3200 Dual Chan 2x512 set to sync'd in Bios.
Although if it were up to me I'd take the intel. 5% overclock isn't going to help that much. Prescotts run hot - you won't be able to overclock much anyways, so why not go for a stability king as opposed to a monster overclocker?
TPG: I may get there someday too; but for now I'll stick with 5%. I tried 7% for a half hour and didn't like the temps I saw. I'll get a better cooler and try again.
