Hi,

I have this problem with view japanese language using webmail.

When I tried to open up the japanese email it shows :
"???????·??????????·??···?????·?????·???????????????????·??·???????··???·?????·????..... and so on"
I have tried all the encoding options but it just won't work.

Then when I change it back to english encoding (default), I found a "untitle.html" attachment at the bottom , so I downloaded it and open locally, it works :
???????????????????

Thats mean nothing wrong with my browser right? But why it does encode properly online?? I have no problem view jap or other language website on line...

The hosting company say they can't help on other language problem...Haha.

Please help.

Thanks.

I don't know, but I see Japanese characters in your post right here on both of your examples. Trying (re)installing the unicode Japanese pack. In Internet Explorer, change the language to Japanese and it will prompt for the Windows CD. Then it will install the fonts and configuration you need in order to view said language(s).

It appears to be either your webmail or the sender's webmail at fault (most likely the encoding option chosen by the sender).

How is it encoded by the sender's webmail? Which character set is used by the webmail? It doesn't matter what version of Windows he's using.

Have him send you another email from a different webmail provider.
