Lane-Splitting by Motorcycles

T2T III

I can't believe that this is even being considered. Looks like Washington state is going to be the first state looking at this option.

I don't own a motorcycle, but can see how they could make use of driving on the dividing lane. Then again, as a driver of an automobile, I think it would be horrible for drivers, because their blind spots would not allow them to see most of these motorcycle riders.

Two weeks off to reconsider your third option.

That's one of the stupidist ideas of which I've ever heard. I'll be sure to put my side-mirrors out a bit farther, just for those asshats. (I live in Seattle, and the bicyclists are bad enough)

I don't think they would be the first state - it was legal in California when I lived there. In general I think it's a bad idea, but frankly in dense traffic that is essentially stopped, I think it must be nice for the motorcyclist.

not illegal in california. no law on point, based on my understanding. the reason is so that air cooled cycles will not overheat sitting in traffic.

but by all means, lets have a rabid discussion about this! (didn't take long for the asshat to come out!) cars vs. motorcycles - which is better, why do you hate them (either). Somebody call Rikki Lake in here.

I see police do it all the time. It doesn't seem to hurt anything.
