So a co-worker hears that I'm looking to replace a car that was taken long before its time. He puts me in touch with someone selling an Infiniti Q45 2002 model with just over 100k on the clock. I'm somewhat 'meh' about it for a number of the default reasons...over a decade old, can be pricey to fix, not a matter of if but when things start going on it, etc etc.
Long story short, he assures me this thing is a creampuff...well taken care of, *ALWAYS* taken in for service appointments according to service schedule and had each and every line item of the service schedule performed, and driven by a little old lady. Alarms begin going off shouting at me as too good to be true.
Each and every word was true. When I called the dealership to check on the vehicle history, the guy immediately knew the lady who owned it. Went down the list and told me each and every thing they've done to it. It's there now getting a PPI, compression test, and diagnostic done...and the little old lady is paying for it. Neither the Svc Mgr nor the head tech (who has serviced the car since she bought it) foresee any mechanical or fit/finish issues...hopefully a big win.
I may be able to walk away with this gem for around $8.5k. What say thee, ATG...buy this land yacht to serve as a solid 3rd family car? We already have an SUV (wife drives) and a smaller sport sedan (I drive mainly now but will pass down to daughter since she has longer commute to school). This will end up being my daily driver (total 25mi per day max) and something I can take clients around in as well when needed...
