no jump, the team is the same, new sponsor

USPS just pulled out of sponsoring bicyclists I think

usps stopped sponsoring Lance and his team?! WTF?! It's like firing Michael Jordon back in the 1990's when he's on his 7th NBA championship.

the idiot that made that decision should be fired!

It's more like someone sold the Bulls to get out of the basketball team owning business and the new owner changed the name of the team to Team Discovery.

It's some amazing sh!t. I watched the program that discovery channel had on the tour and the stuff that went into making lance have that extra lead and the technology just blew me away. He is the epitomy of the american dream. Has no hope, everyone against him, and then he comes out of nowhere and whips everyone's @$$'.

its those bikes designed by AMD computers ;)

I think he's quiting the tour because he's bored. I mean, 7x straight would mean you've pretty much pwned everyone, right?

Maybe he can retire and then come back in 30 years and spank them all again...

Deep breath...

It's not like USPS owned the team. They were the main sponsor. They decided they had gotten the exposure they wanted from their run in cycling and dropped out. BFD. Totally normal.

Did you read my post above? The USPS got out of the bike sponsoring business? Why? I am not sure, but it is a bit presumptious to talk of the wisdom of that decision, don't you think? The USPS got a ton of exposure for their worldwide shipping services from that sponsorship. Continuing to fund the team may not be returning the value it once did - this would make the decision to pull out a no-brainer. There are tons of reasons to justify their decision...

Now, if they had stayed in the cycling business and gotten a new group of unknown riders then you might have a point, but they didn't and you don't...

Did you use the USPS more in the last few years because they sponsored Armstrong? I certainly didn't.

I bet if he didn't retire at the end of this race he could quite possibly win another 2-3 easily.
