Regardless of one's opinions of him and whether he did drugs during his tour de france wins:

Armstrong made his return to triathlon in the inaugural Ironman 70.3 Panama race, on February 12, 2012. He raced in the Professional category, finishing with a time of 3:50:55, 2nd overall to Bevan Docherty.[125] Armstrong's splits were 19:22 for the 1.2 mile swim, 2:10:18 for the 56 mile bike, and 1:17:01 for the run.[126] He also planned to enter 2012 half-Ironman distance races in Texas, Florida, Hawaii as well as the full distance Ironman France in an attempt to qualify for the 2012 World Ironman Championship in Kona, Hawaii.[127]

He started in Tri many years ago before getting into cycling. Some have always wanted him to return, but of course he was too old to be competitive. Except then he pulls of a second place in half-iron distance race. I have no doubt he IS too old to win the ironman championship, that boat really has sailed, but this is still an incredible performance by a 40 year old.

Lance Armstrong is a freak. He'll be 60 years old and be in better shape than 90% of 25 year olds.

Bikes go in the garage when your not riding them

Lance has that rare quality of being able to look into himself and know what his limits are. How many races has he literally dropped on the ground after completion.

I'm not sure. I do know that Lance is a performance car enthusiast - I remember seeing his black Diablo when I was in in Austin doing the Ride for the Roses in 2000 or so.

I personally put my bikes in my garage hence bike threads go in here as far as I can tell. Its the same as us having a discussion on lawn mowers since they are usually parked in the garage.

Well until we have a shed forum.
