well, i finally picked up a copy of battlefield 1942, but I'm having trouble playing it over the lan. Both my brother and I have different keys, but we can't see each others' games. We're both updated to patch 1.5, but still haven't been able to see each other. I"m using an old d-link di704 router with cable modem plugged into the wan, and my brother and I plugged in to two of the four ports on the front.

Also, I also enabled the ports listed on the bf1942 website. We're both using XP Pro. Also, I tried to play warcraft III of the lan, and that worked just fine. I'm confused :)

Does anyone have any ideas as to a solution?

I've heard of issues if you have multiple NICs.

Basically, BF1942 is more than likely at fault. I just had a big LAN last weekend, and random people couldn't see the LAN servers in BF1942 at all. You can play in the same game by doing an add favorite, type in the IP of the other computer, and hit join or connect. Something to that effect, it's annoying but it works.
