LAN streaming to Samsung SmartTV

I've been trying to figure out the details of streaming to my Samsung Smart TV.

Allshare streaming from device to TV. OK direct. Possible through Router?

- I can can direct link with my phone or PC to the TV using wireless and stream using Allshare.

- I can stream from my PC to the TV through my LR Fios Router using ethernet cables using allshare.

- If I disconnect the router from my PC and try to make that connection wirelessly, I can not see the TV anymore.

- Samsung technical support recommended changing the channel settings of my wireless router.

Pulling Video from a hard drive (Not NAS) to the TV.

When I first hooked a hard drive to the TV via ethernet from a router. it detected a few videos. They happened to be in the trash folder of that drive. I can not see any other videos added to that hard drive. If I connect the hard drive directly to the TV, I can see all videos and music on it. The drive is connected to the TV by a router that the TV recognizes. (Belkin).

Is there a way to get the TV to recognize videos on a hard drive hooked into the USB port of a router?

My network is a Samsung smart TV (also have sony smart Blu Ray player available. hooked to a FIOS router via ethernet. The Fios router is hooked to a belkin router via Internet.

Thanks,
