Lan Party MAchine Case modding...

In my continuing efforts to build a Lan Party rig from mainly spare parts around the house, I have resurrected an old "Beige Box" ATX case I had in my closet. I had loaned it to a friend for a while, and it came back nasty, filthy, and covered in dried bird crap.... So it was relegated to the closet. I wish I had pictures of it before the modding, but just know it was all beige, with the bottom part around the power switch a clear violet color. (Purty durned ugly).

The main modifications done to the case:
- Washed off bird crap 🙂
- Took the spray can to various pieces of the front bezel, as well as the whole top panel of the case.
- Added upper exhaust fan to top of case (Seeing as heat rises 😛)
- Added handles/cable wraps to top of case.

The only money I spent on the case was for the two handles at top. I found them at Lowes, and not only will they make great sturdy handles for toting, but they also are shaped well for wraping cables around them. Blew $14.00 total on the handles.

Still not exactly the prettiest thing in the world, but I'm proud of the improvement. Also on the way are custom decals in the shape of the Intel Logo stating: "Lan Party Inside".... 😛 ok so those cost $5 on ebay.... so $19 total.

Edit:

Oh yeah, I almost forgot the thermometer in the front panel. Found a meat thermometer in my kitchen I had never used, so now its my ambient temp sensor 😛.

VG Indeed!!

The handles look proper and i can see how easily cables can be wraped/stored up there.

The dark top panel really sets off the case.....A good two tone paint job. You did well.

One negative...Remove the stamped fan grill at the rear exhaust. (in pic#3) They are restrictive.

EDIT: The meat thermometer..:thumbsup::beer:
