LAN Party Laptop Help

I'm in the market to buy a new laptop for around $1,200. I want to mainly use it as my LAN party box, so I need a good graphics card. Weight is a big issue also because I have to carry it around to my classes. I was thinking about in the lines of less than 8lbs. I was hoping I could get the ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 or a GeForce 4 Go, so I would be still able to play future games. What would your pick be?
 
From personal experiences, the Dell Inspiron 8x00 series are very versatile and very upgradeable. You can upgrade everything from your videocard, 2xRAM slots, HDD, fixed bay, a modular bay as well, and yet still have a dedicated battery bay, even with 2 optical drives. They are compatible with the GF42Go, Radeon 9000 Mobility, etc. The best part is that the upgrades aren't too extremely difficult, either. Simply lifting up the keyboard unveils the videocard and CPU for upgrades.

As for parts, I've bought most of my upgrades on eBay. 😛 There are a few resellers that sell for prices that almost cut Dell's price in half. 😀
