That's right, kiddies. Central Washington Gamers is having a LAN party February 19th through the 20th. We're not exactly sure of the details yet, but we're looking to host it in the new high school's cafeteria.

Some ideas we've been considering:

Console gaming tournament (Halo 2, Super Smash Brothers Melee, etc)
EHS vs. CWU LAN tournament (Point of Existence (a Battlefield Vietnam mod), Half-Life 2 Team Deathmatch, Counter-Strike: Source, maybe others)
Maybe even a best modded case contest

All contests would have prizes. Anybody under the age of 18 that would want to go would have to sign a consent form before they would be admitted. There will be a fee for attending the LAN. That fee and what it will include have not been finalized. The fee will be no more than $15, and most likely will be less than that. We hope to have projectors displaying tournaments and other information for everyone to see. Ideally there will also be a sound system set up along with someone to MC the whole shebang.

Check the forums at http://www.centralwashingtongamers.com/ and also check there for more information as we finalize the details. If you guys want to post over there, we'll have a dedicated thread that will be updated as much as possible to provide a list of people that will be going. Feel free to ask questions, make comments, and offer suggestions as we're continually looking for ways to better the experience. I'll be checking this thread quite often as well, so by all means post in here if you'd rather.

We hope to see as many of you guys there as possible.

Thanks guys!

David

PS - Mods, I know I have acted a little silly as of late, but could I possibly get a sticky for this?

Snoqualmie Pass + Winter = No.

Yeah, I kept watching King 5's coverage, nothing like roads covered in sheets of ice.

Yeah, it's nasty stuff. When I first moved over I would make the trip back to Spokane to see my family a couple of times each winter. After having to sleep in my car for 10 hours while the pass was closed in 2001, I decided it was never worth doing again.

Are we done discussing how we don't know how to drive in winter weather? Can we get back on topic now? ;) Besides, it's been around 50 degrees. The pass is probably bare and dry, and if not then bare and wet and on its way to being dry. And on top of all of that, the LAN is going to be in late February. :p

BTW, bump.
