LAN network Issue, idk what to do!

Hey guys
i Have an Arris TG1672G Router supplied by my ISP

im pretty tech savy with PCs and electronics but sort of clueless with Networking. i have to transfer maybe about 5-10GB files between my Main computer to my other devices here on my home LAN network daily

Ive noticed when transferring files from my main PC to other devices, the cap it hits is about 6-7MB/s and wont go any quicker. this is way too slow! 🙁 how could i possibly get my upload speeds faster on my LAN network?

its through a 2.4 ghz wireless connection, unfortunately these devices i transfer to dont have any sort of Ethernet port with it..

Have you done a channel scan to see if the channel is used by someone else? Stick to Ch 1,6,11 if possible.

Sounds like ether the source or destination are stuck at G speeds or N is not active in the router.

Yup... Last that I benched best case (non security, strongest signal), wireless G is limited to 3MB/s. I didn't even bother with wireless N @ 2.4G because of lessons learned from wireless N/AC @ 5Ghz. In nearly all cases @ 5Ghz, I tried you need line of sight or mirror trickery to get past 100MB/s. And that's assuming your router can handle that with many other real world devices connected.

6 -7 MB/sec. is quite common for lower end single band 802.11n Wireless.

You need more you have to get a better AP and make sure that the Wireless cards in your Devices can support High end Dual band Dual Band.
