I have heard with some good or Special Lan /Network cards PCI or PCIe you can go way faster ?
I heard this from "Gamers" long ago
If so what's a good one, I'm hoping I can just get it from Newegg.
My system is in my Signature below

I have seen the ones from ATTO for $2000. and $2900.

I'm hoping a few hundred or so

I just got U-verse from ATT for internet yesterday about 6.1mbps

Thanks for the Advice Gentlemen !!

Unless your current onboard network adapter is malfunctioning, you really aren't going to get any improvement with a separate PCI network adapter on your home internet connection.

All this stuff I hear improving speeds with high dollar pcie Lan network cards, it's all over now, or rather there is no way I can do this?

I wouldn't bother if I were you, personally.

I used to have a Killer card long ago, I think I still have it in my wife's face book computer.

can these babies really go and go FAST on the Internet with my computer?

With a download speed of all of 6.1 megabits per second unless your onboard LAN (which is likely gigabit) is having some serious issues you will see zero difference going with a PCI slot card. There really isn't a call for separate NICs nowadays other than for use in servers for teaming multiple high speed connections. Heck even at 60 megabits per second my onboard NIC is barely being utilized.

just so I know, when I see: "10/100/1000" on board Lan connection, or connection speeds
or if you understand what I'm saying correctly does this refer to NIC area?

and YES I have the "Gigabyte" Lan on my board.
thanks for the Help here, it's a new area for me
