everything was working fine then i rebooted one of my machines and now its lan connection is totaly dead,it cant load any webpages or other net apps, and doesnt show up to other computers on the network, nor can it see any others.running win98se,a dlink router, under computer properties it says the lan card is working fine.i was running mirc and azureus before i rebooted, when it came back nothing worked, ive rebooted a few more times and checked the cables,i run spyware checks and looked at my host file,i cant figure it out.

First ping from and to the computer (if you do not know ping look at windows help).

If ping is Not OK than you have a NIC or and Cable problem, check it.

If ping is OK then you have to clean the computer and go over the settings.

Log to this page it has a lot of links to instructions to Windows Network Settings, and Sharing.

Link to: Windows Network - Installing & Sharing

P.S. It does not matter that you did not touch the settings and or it worked until Now. Setting might change due to Hardware/Software Glitches, or Internet Sc**wares).
