am gettin an internet connection through LAN from my cable operator....is it possible to ruin his service...if i put his gateway ip as my ip...like will they clash n cause any problems....or something like that....?
or if by any chance if i get to know the ips of his other clients....n if i try to use them from my machine/connection...will it give him any kind of problem(s)...and if yes then like what...????????

Depending on the device you use to connect, you could (at the least) not connect, not get data, not affect anyone else....(at the worst) advertise yourself as the default route, cause other users to try to connect to you instead of the correct gateway, P.O. the ISP and all the other users on your segment, and cause the ISP cancel your connection. If it can be determined that it was intentional, you can be prosecuted. Read the contract you signed when you accepted the ISP's services.

In many cases, if you choose an active IP address, you may "steal" it from the rightful host....until he re-boots and "steals" it back. At least some of the Microsoft products listen for the address before lighting up the connection, and if it sees it as an active address, will give you an error message and refuse to go active.

Bad idea, give it up.
