Laminated wood, or carpet in bedroom...

Finishing my bedroom up and been trying to decide if I should go with a laminated wood(maybe real wood) or carpet. I have two dogs, but they won't be able to come in the room(course its hard to resist a basset hound😛) Or I want a nice fluffy carpet. Looking for some opinions.

My sister in law just bought a place and we pulled up all her carpet and put down laminate hard wood flooring.. it looks so nice and its SUPER easy to do.

Imagine waking up on a cold morning and having to put your bare feet down on a wood floor. No thanks, carpet for me 🙂.

My parents' guest room (where I stay when I go to see them) has wood floors and my dad likes it cold in the house. That's the only time I ever wear slippers!

Yeah thats a big negative, but If I drag the Homer Simpson slippers out of the closet it would soften that feel(i gotta walk down a ceramic hallway anyway. Almost went with granite, but decided that would be too cold.

Another thing to consider...

You're having wild monkey sex and get a little too active, BOOM, you end up on the floor. That could hurt! 😉 😀

I had my carpet replaced with cherry wood. It's nicer looking, but the dust builds up pretty quickly.

I just yanked up all the carpet in my house and went back to the hardwood, I ripped it up in the bedroom over a year ago. Sure its a little colder on the feet but hardwood doesn't hold oders like carpet and my house smells a lot better with the old carpet gone. I have a few bad spots in the wood but with an area rug to cover most of them up it looks a hell of a lot better.

Laminated wood. Inexpensive, easy to replace, easy to maintain, durable. If the coolness of the surface bothers you, put some rugs where you put your feet down and lay some comfy slippers nearby.

I don't know wtf you are doing in your house, but as long as you vacuum regularly and have it professionally cleaned once a year, it will stay clean and won't smell at all.

Wood looks really nice, but carpet is so much more comfortable.
For a dining area or living room, I wouldn't mind wood.
But for a bedroom, I definitely vote for carpet.
