This stuff is on sale for about $1.24 a sq ft... that seems like a great deal -

My house currently has carpet - I was considering tile, but since I would have to put down cementboard it isn't really worth it.

I'm good with tools - but even the cheapest 'real' hardwood at home depot was $4 a sq/ft for prefinished stuff...
Opinions? It will be in the dining room, living room, hallway, and sitting area. Somewhere in the range of ~700 sq ft..

From what I have read when I looked into it the only reason people like it is that it is cheap, durability is suspect.

Duribility is great.....unless you have pets or spill water.

I've got the harmonics in my living room/bedroom. So far it's held up extremely well, has been in a year. It's great with spills because it's easy to clean up, and as long as you don't leave them there you're ok. It will scratch easily though if you start moving around furniture on it though, so make sure you get felt pads.

Edit: Remember to price out the installation kit too. You need the soft/feltish underlay in order to keep the warranty.

I've got a friend that put laminate in his house. I regrets not spending the extra money and getting real wood. If you scratch it, that's it.
