Lame preview of a VoodooTV

Heh, a few people were predicting the VoodooTV would be announced over at the Beyond3d boards. I guess they were right...

<< Lame VoodooTV preview. >>

I'm confused. Is the preview or hardware "lame."

Edit: Just giving the preview another one-over. This tuner card is actually pretty cool. It comes with a remote too! Hehe. It appears to be the "GTS" of the tuner card market.

Tuner appears to be pretty neat, the preview on the other hand should be removed for complete lack of any kind of valuable information. It's mostly stuff right out of a marketing pamphlet minus any hard details. The NDA lifts tonight though so a bunch of previews should go up by morning...

For the past couple of weeks the admins at Beyond3d (Dave and Kristof) have been hinting at some sort of announcement from 3dfx in "2 weeks to a little over a month" (from Kristof I believe). I guess the VoodooTV would be the "2 weeks" seeing how he posted this a couple of weeks ago. Now I wonder what the "little over a month" would be. Comdex starts in about a month and it would make sense for them to officially anounce Rampage then. *sigh* The wait continues.

Who needs a Tivo or anything, you could take this a cheap duron and some SCSI drives and make one hell of a digital VCR. Has anyone figured out if this thing supports HDTV? I'm guessing it does (because I believe the conextant chip on it does) but the lousy article doesn't make it clear.

So how would this work .... would you run from the set top box into the voodoo tv? Can you get the voodoo tv to act as a descrambler? (not a black box, just the regular set top box)

OMG you get a free remote?!? Well that just sweetens the deal even more!
Wait till i go to my friends house and press the 30/60 button on the remote and magically speed up his tv to 60fps, oh joy! 😀

That has got to be the lamest preview I've read to date.

The card looks really great though. The Radeon 64 already dilivers all the features of the card but the fm tuner would be really cool.
