Lamborghini may have stolen the show -- the Paris Motor Show -- with a new plug-in hybrid supercar concept.

The Lamborgini Asterion LPI 910-4 wears its horsepower rating in its name -- 910. Able to rocket from a stop to 62 miles per hour in three seconds, the Asterion also bills itself as a "green" car.

The mid-engine car drives on pure electric power for about 31 miles per charge. It has two electric motors in the front axle and a powerful lithium-ion battery.

But it can put its pussycat-like ways aside with the push of an accelerator. That's when the 5.2-liter V-10 engine and seven-speed dual-clutch transmission kick in. Together with the electric motors, it can reach a top speed of 199 miles per hour.

On electric power alone, it can go 78 mph.

In case you're wondering, Asterion is the the proper name of the Minotaur, which itself was a hybrid -- part man, part bull, according to Lambo.

I think it looks kind of Miura-esque... what does AT garage think? Definitely a beautiful car.

Beautiful car. Has more modern muscle car looks than an Italian supercar - kinda why it looks like the Miura, which had a very Corvette look to it - but I like that about it. Most other Lamborghinis are wider and more angular.

910 horsepower.

Don't tell me the price tag. I wants it. :( I even like the name.

All these plugin hybrid supercars are cool but all of them take a big weight penalty for the batteries. The P1's my favorite because it just goes a short range on EV so it's still really light. But the Porsche probably has a 600 lb battery and with 30 miles range this car will weigh a lot compared to a non-PEH too.

It's okay though, I welcome this transition. Also this car looks great... but so do most Lambos

It's ok but looks kinda off to me (I think it's the contrast of the sharp front fascia and lights with the softness of most of the body). It looks like a brawnier Lambo version of the Alfa 4C and that's why it only somewhat looks like the Miura to me (which was far swoopier).

I also don't understand WTF Lamborghini's promo crap "when you've achieved perfection, just double it" meant at all in regards to this since there's nothing at all that they doubled to get this. Most people thought it implied that this would be a 2+2 but it's just a 2 seater.

Oh, and not sure if you knew this or not OP, but about 10 years ago Lambo did a modern concept version of the Miura.

Hmm, the Asterion looks a bit like this:

I am absolutely in love with this design.

It actually struck me as 'off' at first, but once the nostalgia effect kicked in I realized how gorgeous it is. It's a stark contrast from the recent extreme designs the company has offered in the past decade.

The concept is amazing.

I really like this, both from an ascetic and a performance design point of view. Finally, more hybrids that make sense! Don't give me gimped performance for the sake of being a hybrid. Use those electric motors to augment my gasoline engine!

I agree. It is simply gorgeous.

All cars should look this good.

I don't like it....it doesn't look like a Lamborghini to me.

And Miura reborn? The Miura was amazing because, at the time, there were still Ford Model T's on the roads. This is not nearly as revolutionary, it just happens to have some curves.
