Lamar Odom, doesn't he make you want to strangle him?

compare Lamar Odom to like Drew Gooden.

Gooden is an average NBA player, not exceptionaly talented, unless you consider being 6'10" 250 a talent. but he seems to work hard. he doesn't have what it takes to be a super star but he will play basketball for as long as his health allows because there will always be a place for him on someones roster.

Odom, maybe one of the most talented players in the league, seriously, this kid can do it all. he has all the tools, also 6'10" 250, but has soo many more tools than drew gooden.

and yet, their numbers aren't that far off, well odom has a few more assists per game.

but seriously, when is this kid going to take himself seriously and become the superstar he is capable of being?

The answer is: Never. Which as a die-hard Laker fan sucks for me to admit, but it's the truth. Lamar has been the exact same player since the day he came in the league. His game has not improved or evolved in the least, and I don't expect it to. I'm just glad the Lamar at the 3 experiment has ended, because he is much better at the 4 than he was at the 3 since he can't shoot worth a crap.

I like odom and i agree with both your assessments. I remember when this kid came out of Rhode Island w/ so much hype. I'm from Philly and I cringe each time I see Igoudala or Dalembert hold the ball.
This AI can't create his own shot. He's horrible and his jumper makes you wanna slap him. Cheeks need to give Lou Williams more minutes. He and Miller in the backcourt would work out great but the size
disadvantage would kill us. Dalembert is a hot mess. I see dudes on the playgrounds who can play better than him. Not worth the $60 million billy gave him.

Odom > AI/Dalembert

i don't know, i don't think that improvement or evolution is the issue. seems to me it's just simply a lack of heart.

that was a strange rant on something that this thread has nothing to do about.

The problem with Odom is that he is paid to be a 2nd option on offense when in reality he is more of a 3rd option. Now that Bynum is emerging, LO is finding his groove again as a player and really thriving. Odom is perhaps the best 3rd option in the NBA, no other player his size possesses his skill set in terms of rebounding, dribbling, passing, and shooting.
