Lakers Fans: Who will you protect for the expansion draft?

Here is the Roster for the Playoff: You can protect up to 8 players, the rest are selectable by the expansion team, which is the the Charlotte Bobcats.

D. George
K. Malone
S. O'Neal
K. Bryant
G. Payton
L. Walton
D. Fisher
K. Rush
S. Medvedenko
B. Cook
R. Fox
B. Russell

In for me: the 5 starters plus D. Fish
Out for sure: Cook, Fox, Russell

I think Lakers will have a tough time choosing 2 out of 3 between Slava, Rush and Walton.
Note: I'm not sure how the Free Agency of Players' status will affect the Protection List, anyone who has solid info on that please add in.

Another possibility that I see is to leave Payton out to dry; Charlotte might draft for the future and not wanting to pick up Payton for $4.5 m. This way Lakers can keep all three young players. Malone is a bargain for $1 m and is more valuable to the Lakers than Payton in my opinion. Although leaving Payton out of the list might further alienate Payton and risk losing a future hall of famer.

but then agian, maybe walton will get more opportunities w/ the new expansion team...

Expansion Draft is June 22nd, NBA Draft is two days later June 24th. Should be interesting to see.

I must be really out of it...errr...actually I don't care about the NBA, I just follow NCAA ball. When did the Hornets leave town?

Expansion Draft Rules

Looking at the rules, look like Lakers will be safe from the draft.

With a couple of unrestricted (potential and otherwise) Free Agents in Lakers roster, I think all three (Slava, Rush, Walton) will be protected.

Look like it's going to be Cook or Fox left to be picked. I doubt Bobcats will be interested in either.
