Are you okay with a national ID card? A lot of conservatives like you are not. A modern national ID card is really the solution to a lot of these problems.

Obama was probably cruising down south looking for a bunch of white women to kidnap - and he happened to see this scum bag. So, he picked him up and dropped him off in the good old US of A and told him to wreck havoc.

Oh, and vote for Obama in 2012.

So why are liberals the first to scream 'racism' or 'disenfranchisement' when the idea of requiring everyone to obtain and ID for voting purposes is even mentioned?

I'm fine with requiring one to vote too. And if it stops illegals from voting that would be the point.

What's wrong with a State ID accomplishing the same thing?

Aside from the fact that we already have a national ID number anyway.

The only way it would accomplish the same thing is if there was a national standard and database at which point it would no longer be a truly state ID. In my experience conservatives don't like the idea of citizens being in a database. Of course that would be a practical solution to the problem raised in the OP. I could be really simple. You have a US ID with entries for citizenship, state of residency, and eligibility for public aid. Without it you wouldn't get food stamps.

If you want federal government money, then sure, submit to a government check and federal ID. Fraudulent documents incur substantial fines and/or prison.

If you want state money, same thing with the state.

This keeps the choice in the hands of the money stealer.

Enjoying your daily dose of outrage, Spidey?

$900/mo in food stamps? He probably found a way to claim lots of child dependents... paid off a junkie redneck at the food stamp office... Who knows?

Any well heeled tax cheat can beat uncle Sam out of a lot more than that without drawing a breath, let alone breaking a sweat.

$900/mo! The sky is falling! It's the end times, I tell you!

So you condone this then? You think this is out of the ordinary?

Why is an illegal getting 900 bucks of MY MONEY! Explain yourself and why you support this behavior.

What makes it your money, Spidey? Other than some amount less than 1 cent, if you actually paid federal income taxes at all...

Nice concern troll, though, considering that you'd rather destroy the govt & the country with tax cuts than actually pay taxes yourself.

Condone it? no. Think it's out of the ordinary? Dunno. If you believe it isn't, offer some statistical support from some source that's not ravers like yourself.

You may now return to raving & fapping in mock moral outrage...

Assuming state ID is what gets you food stamps... Fact is that state IDs aren't an obstacle to benefits in most cases. That's the problem that needs to be addressed.

Go to your local DMV and watch the shenanigans that go on. Last time I was there a to renew my license there was an entire family from the DR trying to get IDs for the 5 kids, both sides of grand parents and what looked like a few brothers/sisters. 10 people total. The one guy kept yelling "but I'm the father, give my my ID now or I will sue! I'm the father!"

Calmly, nice lady behind the counter just kept saying "I need birth certificate, no birth certificate, NO ID"

You should have heard the comments from citizens in line. Pure and utter disgust. I even thanked the lady and complimented her on her patience. Her response "we get them all day, every day, THOSE people"

So what do you get when you don't verify if somebody is supposed to be getting government money? You get this. How the hell can illegals get 900 bucks a month in free food money?

The same way they get away with being the country in the first place. Businesses benefit from illegal labor, kick back money to politicians, who then ignore the problem and reassure the public that they are fight crime by focusing on drug testing welfare recipients and throwing potheads into prison.

I have no reason to doubt that anecdote but I don't think that's always the case in other states. It only takes one state to be pushovers on illegal immigration. Once there the illegals can get their anchor babies and become citizens and move to other states. There needs to be a concerted national crackdown on illegals and a national ID card (or connected and networked state IDs and databases) to get the job done.

Chill, dudes- Florida will probably spend $5000/mo to lock the guy up for the next 10 years, more after that, so it's all good, right?

Where is the liberal outrage at this...?

Imagine that there is some, the same way that you imagine national rightwing outrage to be something other than trumped up concern trolling. If money weren't being spent feeding the children of illegals, repubs would spend/ fail to collect it with fatcat tax cuts & subsidies...

The Ryan budget shows just how much they're interested in fiscal responsibility, which is to say not at all.

So now Jhhnn is on record saying that laws should not be enforced if the cost of enforcement is greater than the loss resulting from the crime.

This is what they think, this is what they believe, this is how they "feel". Defeat them.

November is coming, be ready.

Not at all. I'm just trying to tickle Spidey's feeble mental processes, that's all, maybe yours as well.

The alleged dealer's children will now go into the state system, where we'll pay for their care directly, too. $900/mo in food stamps was probably a lot cheaper. None of which bothers me at all, nor does the cost of incarcerating the guy, his wife, and the others.

Particularly since it's Florida, far away from me, and one of the most conservative & screwed up states in the nation. U3 is 12%, U6 somewhere off the charts, nobody even wants to talk about the foreclosure rate, revenues are down, tax cuts are up, & they want to spend money drug testing welfare recipients. They'll need federal money just to keep the lights on, I think.

It's the aftermath of the greatest looting spree in the history of finance, the ownership society, made possible by republican ideology run wild. Florida was some of the richest pickin's of all.

Spidey & Co want rather desperately to avoid looking at any of that, let alone doing so squarely, so they'll attempt to divert attention with the usual moralistic faux outrage... while their leadership looks for new ways to spread the blight of top down looting & class warfare.

And no doubt they'll find another schmuck just like him to give food stamps to.
