Lake Powell

My brother found this pretty cool page (well if you are a geek like me) on the water inflows to lake powell this year. We had quite the snow year this year in the rockies (breaking the 7th year of drought) and the inflows into lake powell are assounding, the water level has been increasing at over a foot a day for close to two weeks. Well anyway, here's the page...

Holy crap, 62440 average CFS inflow. that's almost half a million gallons of water flowing into the lake per second. Amazing.

June 2nd, 66895cfs was the inflow. That is 5,779,728,000 cubic feet of water in 24 hours or 43,235,367,896 gallons of water or 163,663,671,119 liters for you europeans. The colorado drainage is pretty big. 😉

Lake Powell was losing enormous amounts of water IIRC. Hopefully this should make up some of the water lost in previous years.

If you clicked the link and read the info you would note that lake powell is down 111ft. It's been 7 years of drought in the rockies but this year was astounding. We had nearly 220" inches of snowfall in utah alone.

I didn't click the link, I just remembered reading an article on the lake in some magazine.
