Lair w/ new control update

Has anyone played Lair with the latest patch, which apparently lets you use the joysticks to fly instead of Sixaxis...

How are the new controls? Is it worth getting now? Seems to be on clearance at a few places...

I picked it up because of the new analog patch. It played great. It was a very fun game. The controls are still somewhat hard to get used to. I have never played it with the Sixsxis controls but I can see how it would be very hard. I had a blast playing Lair though. I think it is a fairly short game though, although you can replay the levels to earn medals.

Wow, patch is out? Does this make Lair worth buying or should I still wait for the bargain bin?

I've seen some game (bashing) footage, and I kinda like what I saw.

Edit: This question should sum it up, on a serious note... Is this the patch that makes the game fun?

I actually found some sort of wierd glitch in the game a few months back. I had my Rock Band guitar dongle plugged in and rented Lair. Fired up the game and it worked off the analog sticks.

Sort of. You could do basic controls with the left stick - up, down, side to side. But you couldn't roll or dash with it. When I unplugged the dongle the six axis took over.

I was sort of torn. In battle I'd rather have analog control, but for the open arenas I felt more "in the game" using the motion sensing.

Having the option to choose would have made it much more enjoyable. I didn't get it finished, but it's worth a rental at least. Even on clearance I don't think I'd buy. It's not that long and there's little replay value.

It is alot of fun. Like I said, I think it is a little short, but it is alot of fun. I got it used and with a coupon from gamestop for $22. It's definitely worth that.

I was thinking of picking this game up with the new controls and a DS3 controller (not specifically for the game, just to have a DS3 controller).

Anyone else have any comments on the game with analog control?

The game patch has been out for several weeks. I bought it when it first came out, thought it was very good. And easy to fly, no control issues with it.

I tried the analog flying, its easier, more for newbies I guess. Still one of my favorite games. Great story, voice overs, cut scenes, and fantastic score.

I think I'll pick this up used then when I wrap up GTA4. Thanks for your input 🙂
