Lagging of CS 1.6 from Zone Alarm Pro

I play CS 1.6 and i just LAG. Sometimes my ping is 60 in a server where it used to be 40, and goes all the way up to 150 but when i turn zone alarm pro off it stops. How can i configure zone alarm so that it will let my CS be lagfree.

1 GB DDR2 4200 Ram

firewalls permit or deny, no setting for "slow down". if your gameplay is normal (minus the latency) when the firewall is on, i would look to the program itself, not the configuration. what version are you running? tried re-installing zap?
