Lag

Sometimes I lag out in CS or BF2. It acts like normal leg except for the fact that I can still hear people on the voice chat! I don't understand it. I also hear some of the sounds in CS (reloading sounds, etc) I can talk to the people and tell them I am lagged out...

Anyone ever had this issue? It's a real hard one to tell Comcast about...

Did you open the ports for your games?

Or does your gateway has Qos?

why would non-open ports cause lag?

either the packet is able to route there (forwarded correctly) or it's not (closed) and you couldn't connect. It's not like it's going to cause lag because it's only forwarding a few as it decides...

Turns out that some ass hats were splicing into our cable line outside which was causing some problems with our connection. This is the second time we've had this issue!
