Lag spikes when another computer is on same router

Ok, here is the issue. I have a wireless router downstairs, it connects wireless to another wireless router, making it a bridge (DD-WRT WRT54G for both of them). On this bridge, I have a couple connections, but two in particular. An XBOX 360 and an computer running Windows. When this computer is on, when I try to play XBOX 360, there is a ton of lag spikes and it basically makes the game unplayable. Literally, once I turn the PC off, the lag spikes stop. I've tried two seperate computers on this as well. I've netstat'd the PC and I've seen no odd packets or anything. Anybody have any ideas?

turn off bittorrent/virus.

only so much bandwidth can stream at once.

remember its a bridge 🙂 disable all unnecessary protocols

Lag is mostly caused by a system on the network uploading. Upload speeds are usually a lot slower then download speeds. If a system is hogging the upload bandwidth, all of the other systems on the network will lag. If your getting lag spikes when the pc is on, I would do a security audit of that computer.

Make sure you have an anti-virus installed, make sure all of your windows security updates have been installed, and scan for mal-ware.

There is no bittorrent running on the PCs. This is also a completely new reformatted computer. Nothing installed on it. I figured it might be a virus but it's not.

Any other ideas?
