Lag spikes in League of Legends on new EA6300 router but not other wireless?

Hi guys, so I bought a new Arris 820 modem and Linksys AC1200 (EA6300) router so I don't have to pay comcast for theirs. Unfortunately now that I've switched over, despite turning on DMZ for my comp's MAC, and turning off firewall for IPv4, IPv6, I keep getting lag spikes consistently in every game. When I switch to my neighbor's open wireless network, the lag spikes go away.

Any ideas / suggestions?

So I figured out its definitely a router issue as I didn't experience these lag spikes when directly plugged in to the modem.

I was also able to fix this issue on the 2.4 Ghz band by changing the channel from Auto->specific channel. However I'm still experiencing these lag spikes and disconnects with the 5Ghz band despite changing multiple channels.

Any ideas / suggestions?

Is the open network belonging to the neighbor on the 5ghz band? Do you still have spikes if plugged directly into the router as opposed to directly into the modem? If i were to guess without knowing the answers to those 2 questions I would blame the wifi adapter in your computer before i would blame the router.

The neighbor's connection is 2.4 Ghz, and I'm unable to plug directly in to the router. My network adapter is a brand new Linksys AC USB adapter. I have seen other people with the same problem having lag spikes on 5Ghz network but not 2.4 Ghz without much help on other forums. I'm hoping someone on here can help.
