lag or stutter?

this been happening since i got my x1900xt, when i play bf2 or c s or any first person player games, i would lose control for 1-2 seconds....my character would move by itself in the direction i was moving in and i can control it. happens maybe once an hour

amd 3200+ @ 2.55
2 gig corsair xms
x1900xt
seagate 250 sata

this happened before and after i got my audigy 2 zs....so that cant be problem....
doesnt seem like an internet connection lag.....maybe system lag?
 
what gpu did you have before the x1900xt? i know when i went from a x800xtpe to my x1800xt it took about an additional 400MB of ram to game bf2 at the same settings as the older card. are you exceeding 2GB total usage? i know when i firtst got my x1800xt i had 1GB and gameplay was unplayable, needed to go 2GB - if you are at a higher resolution you may need more ram??

what psu?

even now my machine @ 1280x1024 all on high except dynamic shadows and lighting off will hit 1.7GB total usage, and i idle ~270MB (have to love the catalyst control center taking up so much ram...)
 
i had the 7800 gt before.....i have a enermax liberty 500w

this even happens in counter strike.......so doesnt have anythign to do with ram.
 
your psu should be more than enough.....weird issues though.

in bf2 i have had your problem when there was a server issue as confirmed by my buddies on teamspeak on a different server than where the game is, is this a random issue or is it usually consistent? always the same server or different? always on weekends? i notice that when online gaming i have many more issues on weekends - guessing because all the servers are getting pushed harder, especially reseller servers that run more than 1 game per machine or cpu

but cs has been around for some time, i use to play it when it was just a mod for half life, way before when you could run your own servers at home on a 256Kb/s connection. i would put cs:s above bf2 as bf2 has soooo many bugs, as you know. still not sure what your issue is, i would just pay attention to if it does it more at certain times over others and try to limit it that way. sorry i couldn't help more.
