Story here.

Ouch. That's gotta be a big sting for Hillary. First Edwards gangs up on her with Obama (the 'tag team' as she calls it) and now Kerry endorses Obama. Looks like the Clinton Machine is starting to lose its wheels...

Heard there were irregularities there and that on manual recounts Obama was winning

She won by less than 3% in a state where nearly 60% of the voters were "her base". She should have wiped the floor with Obama in New Hampshire.

I could care less about Kerry or who he endorses, but it is a signal that the establishment is really split. Kerry's as old school as they get for the Democrats, and for him to break with the Clinton machine is quite telling.

who the hell would even want Kerry's endorsement?

hell, even Edwards said that he would not accept it.

the guy took what should have been the most easily won election in modern history against one of the most unpopular presidents ever and somehow managed to pull defeat from the jaws of victory and has been more or less an outcast within the party ever since. not someone I'd want to be associated with.

Yes she should have done better, but if there is something to the Iowa "bump" people talk of then that could be the difference...

Anyway, it will be interesting to see where things go from here, but it seems like there is more and more support for Obama these days. I think Hillary is in some trouble.

It sort of looks to me like Hillary is going to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat by playing the victimization card with women. She just has to cry a few more times to get elected. It was such a touching moment and I know we were all deeply moved, right? She has so many important plans for the nation and black Obama is trying to rape her kid.

I'm really and truly getting afraid for my sanity. I find myself agreeing with Pabster a lot these days. ;)

Don't make me go back through the other threads and pick out all of your doom and gloom pronouncements for New Hampshire.

Maybe you should take the lesson from that and lay off the predictions for a little while.

If Bill Richardson comes out and endorses Obama when he offically drops out of the race that would be a far bigger blow to Clinton than Kerry. Remember Richardson is a Clintonite.

I'm sick of hearing about everything Obama not being about Obama, but being about Clinton. For example this story is on Drudge, and also a story saying 'Culinary Union cuts Clinton,' without any mention of them endorsing Obama which is the real story there. I think Clinton is benefiting from this kind of coverage, even when Obama won Iowa I remember seeing Clinton's face on the Yahoo front page.

You've been Pabsterized

And I've had the same feeling lately. I've found myself agreeing pretty regularly with some regulars I almost never agree with. What the hell's going on around here? ;)

You don't need to! I'll be the first to admit I was wrong on New Hampshire. I'm still tasting a bit of crow on that ;)

I didn't make any predictions here...did I? Except that perhaps this is a sign of the tide turning against the establishment to some degree. Hillary's back in the game, no bones about it. It's going to be a long 10 month tour.

Does Kerrys endorsement help or hurt Obama?

How could it hurt Obama?

It's not like Kerry is generally reviled. He happened to lose in 2004, but that doesn't make his endorsement invalid. Anyone that admires Kerry will likely take his endorsement into account. Anyone that doesn't like Kerry will ignore it.

If you read the Politico article I linked, the case is made fairly strongly that this is a big plus for Obama - regardless of one's personal opinion or feelings towards Kerry. (I happen to despise the man.)

Kerry is, for better or worse, seen as an authority on national security matters. Obama needs his type to stand behind him, as he just doesn't have the experience and qualification in that particular area.

I think this aids Obama, at least to some degree, and is a big stab in the back to John Edwards. And a fairly clear swipe at Clinton.
