Let me preface this with the fact that 6 months ago I broke up with my fiance and girlfriend of 8 years. I dated her from 16-24 and lived with her the last 3 years. So I am clueless on dating ettiquette and possibly intentions.

Yesterday was my 25th birthday and I was acting a lot more confident than usual for whatever reason. Long story short I was talking to a really hot girl (like my ideal girl) and we really clicked. She can quote at length "school of rock" and said "roflcopter" at one of my jokes. Anyway. We were both drinking a lot though, and over 3 hours of talking and drinking we both got pretty drunk. We kissed a lot, all of that. She wanted to go back to my apartment "but not take it too far" but seriously, it wasn't a good idea for several reasons (for example, I puked when I got home) so I finally got her to agree she should go back with her friends.

OK. I get back to my apartment and I have lost the number. I know her first name, the school she goes to, where she is from, and her lastname starts with L. She has my number too. I told her that I was new at "this" and to call me but I am not sure if she will. Her school only has a google search of the entire site and I can't find jack. However, I remember her friend's name (jessica), that she went to my school, major (chem), and that she is from the same hometown as this girl. Well, there is only 1 person by the description on the "people stalker" search on my school's site. So I know her friend's number/email.

OK. Questions.
Is there any likelyhood that she would indeed call me?
And would it be really weird if I emailed her friend?

If the answers are No/Yes that's fine. Last night was great and I can leave it at that. I have been really down as of late because my ex has found a new boyfriend and I hadn't even talked to a female yet. So last night really hit the spot.

Update, 4.5 years later
I married this girl and now we have a 1 year old daughter named Lily. I couldn't be happier. It was fun reading the generally negative feedback I got here though, and how I sort of stretched the story of us meeting ( she didn't want to go to my apartment, I can't remember that actually happening so it was probably my epeen).

Heh, I get carried away with telling a story a lot. I guess all one needs to read is the title and the questions.

If you e-mail her friend, it'll show you're genuinly interested. But don't let that be the main topic of discussion, try to make conversation first?

Yes, your chances are better than 50%

And would it be really weird if I emailed her friend?
YES. I repeat, YES.

Let's keep in mind that I am really weird myself. So this girl, well at least anyone who knows me, would expect me to go to great lengths of weirdness.

Meh, if she doesn't call in the next day or so I will email. I mean, I will never see her or her friend again (otherwise) so why the hell not? If it is weird and her friend freaks out, hey, at least I tried, right?

Just wait for her to call, if she doesn't call in a week or two, then e-mail her friend jessica and ask if the girl is ok.

The facebook is your friend, try that.

Edit: Oops looks like there is no problem now.

YUP.

don't listen to people bashing hte emailing a friend technique. I've been a very similar situation OP, and I did that. Just say you lost the #, and be polite. It shows genuine interest. Just don't go overboard, be casual about it. :)

Yeah, I'm going out with her in a little over an hour.

Man, it is a lot harder talking to a girl w/o being drunk! I gotta google some "conversation tutorials" or something. I am totally new at this.

EDIT:
Or I could just do a couple shots of gray goose!

I guess a semi-funny thing is that I posted "she just called me!" whilst on the phone with her. anandtech comes first!

Just talk to her the same as you talked to your ex for the last 8 years. You don't have to be different.
