That's a show presented by 3 men. For men. About cars.

Don't be so insecure. You have a daughter...

The new model is not the same car. It new from the ground up.

The last two models were 98% the same from 1989 to 2005.

The 'Miata' is called the MX5 in the UK/maybe europe. Lonyo's not saying it's the same car design-wise, he just means that by talking of the MX5, he means the same model of car.

I think MX5 sounds better than 'miata' which to me sounds like some kind of icecream.

Oh man... I love Miatas. I've owned 4 of them previously, including this one. I think they're one of the most exciting cars you can ever hope to drive. This is the car that convinced me that you don't need 400+ HP to have a cool car.

When people would tell me, "Hey that's a chicks car!", I would say back "You're right... you should see how many chicks I get with this thing."

I've been involved with Miatas for over 10 years, and I've never found it's equal.

The few people I know that drive them are men.

Give more details about the one you bought for your daughter. She's a lucky girl.

92' 5 speed, silver 103K miles she just drove it to school without stalling out, she's finally getting the hang of a MT

I found a red 94' for ~$3500 with 105K on Craigslist today, am very tempted to go buy it.

That's awesome, teaching your daughter to drive stick. Sounds like my gf who recently graduated from her Sentra to a WRX😉

I got a Mazda3, and I want to get a used Miata for the weekends. The people who are going to call it gay are the people who think their car is somehow making them more masculine, so they need to put down other people to make themselves feel better. There is nothing feminine about a RWD 5 speed manual sports car.

I bought a well used Miata for daughter, it's still a couple of weeks till she can drive it legally, and I have fallen in love with it's handling, MPG & cult car status...

Will women assume that I'm of an alternate sexual orientation if I buy a second one for me as a daily driver?

Seems the guys I know all say it's a feminine car, women don't seem to have that opinion...

Get a Fiero, same kinda thing, but more testosterone.

Not unless he hates her or she needs a good portable grille. What a horrible POS. Yes, I had one, bought it new, the very first new car that I bought. Worst investment ever.

Get a Fiero (with a 320HP Northstar V8), same kinda thing, but more testosterone.

Fixed

The only thing I dislike about them is how expensive they still are to buy. An early 90s Mazda with over 100k miles shouldn't be selling for $3k+...

They go for much more than that over here in Vancouver. It's crazy.

I bought my 1992 MA in 2002 for $7K. But it only had 15K miles, was more or less garaged or covered for 10 years, and was in near-showroom condition.

Ah, nice 1990, 142k for $9500
I was looking to get one a year ago, but at these prices it's just plain unreasonable.

Who cares if women do think that any way? They will probably just think your metro and/or in touch with your phemonine side. I see all these guys running around these days with Pink shirts and Pink socks in the office place, and all I can think is "that guy is just in denial". Except a lot of the girls I talk to think its sexy when a guy wears Pink.

This didn't really change my viewpoint on it. I will not, and refuse to ever wear Pink. I won't even put on a Pink tie because I hate the color and I don't want to be seen with it. But I also stand by the "Do what makes you happy" philosophy - and buying a Miata isn't even close to the same thing as wearing Pink. Miata's are like driving a go-kart.

That's not a bad thing😀

Mosh is the only female that's posted🙁

Thats what I meant - sorry if it came across as being a bad thing - but I think of that as a good thing as well. I might have confused you a bit with my analogy - which I then tried to say was a horrible analogy.

The fact is - driving a Miata may have some people saying "Thats a women's car". But it makes up for that with its handling prowess. Do what makes you happy. And seriously, don't wait for women to bring input into this thread - women don't know what they think, it will only confuse you more

here's mine that i sold a few years back 🙁
