lactating dog

my dog gave birth three years ago, suddenly her utter is huge, she is not nursing or pregnant, what could this mean?




edit: Actually, just one of her nipples really filled up, the others are small, relatively, though she is kinda getting fat.

she is definately not pregnant, she lives in a condo, she never goes out unsupervised.

Once I read in a book of this magical place called a Vet. I don't know if they are true or not, but you might want to see if they exist.

Unspayed female dogs have a dramatically increased risk in mammary cancer - which can be particularly nasty. Mammary tumors will likely be very hard to the touch, but I don't believe a tumor is the only possible hard lump that could be found in that location. I would seriously consider bringing her into the vet, as they can do an aspirate or biopsy to see what really is the problem.

IMO, chances are slim that she's begun lactating or something like that for no reason.

Edit: I don't know enough about false pregnancies to comment, but I guess that could be a possiblility as well.

First of all, a vet can save your pets life. As for your second statement,....:disgust:
