Almost forgot: Use dash.com for 3% more off your purchase (dash.com is a click thru rebate site).

Update:
This has gotten better for me. When I placed the speakers in my cart they showed as 49.99 and not the sale price. I called up Staples and they gave me another $25. for my inconvenience on the price error. Now I only paid $68.87 Total! Thank you Staples.:D

I think the sub is the same 8" enclosure used in the Labtec Pulse-454s that everybody (including myself) was getting at OD with the $15 off $50 coupon a while back. On the back of my Pulse 454 sub it says Labtec 2414, and I doubt they make 2 versions of a 8" enclosure in the same pricerange.

Anyways, my babbling wanted to point out that the sub has very strong bass considering the cost. It's as loud as the FPS2000s I just got, but it doesn't hit as low and isn't the most accurate when listening to movies/music. This will suit gamers well for letting loose on the rocket launchers hehe :)

I can't speak for the satellites. Anybody know how they stack up to the Pulse 454 sats?

EDIT: It seems both Staples and Labtec are confused as to what they are selling. The 2414 boxes I saw at OD had the same picture as the Pulse 454s. Staples site is also picturing the 454s when selling the 2414s. Follow this link from Labtec:

The picture for the Labtec 2414 subwoofer looks different from the labtec 2424 pulse subwoofer.
They had both at the Staples I went to and I noticed quite a difference between the two. Just my .02

Here is a link to the 2414:

Compare this to my staples link above. What do you think?

You could also combine this speaker set with the Memorex Scanner so it would break down like this:
Speakers:$41.99
Scanner: $69.99
Coupon: -$30.00
================
Subtotal:$81.98 + tax
Rebate: -$50.00
================
TOTAL: $31.98 + tax

(This could have been really hot if they still had all those free after rebate titles. Just buy $60 worth of software free after rebate combined with this to just get you over $100 then apply $30 off coupon and get it all for $11.99 + tax after rebates!)

I took apart my labtec 2424 8" subwoofer and found that the actual subwoofer is only 4 INCHES and the 8" driver is just a passive radiator. The 4" subwoofer is in a separate cavity that is ported into another cavity where the 8" passive driver is mounted. In effect it is actually only a 4 INCH subwoofer and Labtec could almost be accused of false advertising by plastering the box with the 8 inch preasure driver phrase.

I own the 2414's and they're decent for a subwoofer and 2 sattelite speakers. Especially now that they've come down in price even further than they used to be. I recently bought the same model but the surround sound variety with 4 sattelites. I can notice a huge difference even with only 2 of the 4 working so it's ovious to me that they have improved their design. I can't say anything about the 2424's though. I've never seen any like the staples picture showed.

I saw the previous post about onvia having these for $34.99 and I thought "I'll just get two friends to go in on this with me, I'll price-match that price to Staples, buy 3 ea. for a total of $104.97, apply the $30 off coupon, and get 3 sets for $75 - or $25 apiece!!". So I go to onvia to research this possibility only to find that they've apparently gotten rid of their free shipping again!?!?

Man...this could be sweet..

I have a question though. Is the rebate that comes with the scanner 50 real dollars, or a 50 dollar staples gc, because that's what I got once on a printer, and it sucked royally.
