Labernese as a trail dog?

As some of you might know I got a two-year-old Labernese (mixture of Labrador and mountain Bernese).

I do a lot of mountain biking, and was wonder if he'd have enough endurance, and if he'd enjoy joining me on the trails.

He certainly has the obedience for it.

Anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks

Mountain bernese? Mountain=good endurance, right? Dont worry about it. If he's not in shape, he'll get into shape. How far do you go each ride?

Depends. I like to go for a few hours. Sometimes I go for a whole day, but when I do that I usally take it easier.

Don't know about the lab mix. My wife's old boss had two Bernese though. They don't like getting hot so I'm not sure that part of there heritage will help yoou out They are very similar to St. Bernards. They also like pulling carts and are insanely expensive. Probably didn't help much but that is all I know.

fredtam;

One of my concern was him getting to hot. He does have a lot of fur on him.

I guess the only way to find out is to try it out. I think I'll go for a nice run with him on a hot day, see how he reacts.

I'm sure he would be fine. Just carry an extra water bottle for him. The owner's of the Berneses (sp?) I mentioned frequently take theirs to the Waterfront Park in my hometown (coastal SC) and let them pull kids around in their carts. It is normally 90+ (high humidity also) there in the summertime and the dogs seem to take it fine but they aren't chasing a guy on a bike either.
