Which way should the label face for a fan to be blowing into a case/onto a heatsink? I can't seem to figure this out.. maybe I'm missing something.

That true. If there's ever any question, there's often arrows on the outside rim, with arrows, showing the direction of the airflow.

Just plug the fan into an available header and check it, if you have any doubt.

Perhaps you are missing a nervous system... or your nerves are shot ;) The fan will blow in the direction of where its motor is mounted. Look at the side of the fan... there are usually direction indicators.

With very few exceptions, the label is on the fixed side of the motor, where the struts connect it to the outer housing, the exhaust side.

If you can't tell your fan definitely sucks ;)

Try a thin piece of thread in front of a fan if you really really can't tell.
