i'll probably pick one of these up for him, so he doesn't write his name on anything he buys claiming it as his own. i'm sorta tired of seeing his name written in block letters using a black or red sharpy.

$8 shipping plus tax. Label makers are like printers and blood glucose meters--the manufacturers practically give them away for free, then gouge you with outragious prices on the consumbables. Know any generic or refillable label tapes?

Rebate is valid for up to 10 printers FAR - just buy a couple extra for the included tape and you will be set for awhile.

 
The tape cart that come with these are pathetic. They are starter carts that have very little tape in them and when you go to replace, look out. Mucho $$$ $17 at Staples

I bought a bunch of these and will toss them as the tape runs out.

I can only find a refurbed one when I search by model no. Do you have a Staples near you? Just go there; I picked one up this afternoon.
 
FWIW, my order of 10 units was still saying "Processing Order" so I called Staples CS.

CS lady knew about the labeler and claimed they would be calling tomorrow with an "updated" shipping date. She claimed they are still fullfilling orders but it will be awhile before they ship.

People at SD and FW are claiming they are getting calls saying orders have been cancelled.

We shall see.

Cancelled? That sucks! I bought a couple more today for my Dad and in-laws. I got the last two in the Chelmsford, MA store (sorry).
 
They ring up $40 at our local store, just tried a bit ago. I decined the offer from Staples for one unit. Oh well, no real loss.
