Anyone attended todays Lexus test drive (Text) at Dodger's stadium?

Got to test drive the new IS 350 :camera:and other lexus cars...also the BMW 330 and 530 cars as comparison models.

IS 350, 300hp...20 more than my G35. Pretty impressive...nimble and a lot of power in the starting block.

Nice but I'll wait for the 07 GTR.:)...hopefully, I'll have the moolah by that time.

I heard from other people that have gone to them that they were more impressed by the Bimmers- which would you rather have?

I attended it yesterday. Nice event...the take-home presents were really, really nice, compared to the GM Autoshow in Motion or the BMW Ultimate Driving Experience. Paul McCartney 2-CD set, Zagat Guide, Road atlas

Oh, and that 07 GTR you're waiting for won't be anywhere in the same price range as the IS350 or the current G35. Twin turbo 3.5L + AWD will push it well over 50K for sure.

I drove both the IS350 and the 330i yesterday. The course is a tad short for true road testing, but here's my $0.02:

1) The BMW is better in terms of cornering and overall driving feel. However, none of the IS350s they had there had the sport suspension, which has been said to improve cornering in the IS by a lot.

2) The IS350 is easily the fastest car in that market right now (A4, 330i, G35, TL, etc. etc.). It's very, very quick, with impressive acceleration.

3) The interior of the Lexus blows away the BMW, no contest.

It'll be an IS350 for me, mostly due to reliability (Lexus is tops in the industry) and overall cost of ownership (the IS350 is cheaper by a wide margin when you spec the cars out with similar options).

The GTR is supposed to be around $75k at least, by all accounts.

I lurv Lexii, but the only problem is that I've found them to be fuel guzzlers. What's your take on that DingDingDao?

Excellent summary. I went through this process earlier this year. Different model of Lexus, but the same 330i. Bought the Lexus. The interior was the major difference. I didn't like the 330i's interior at all in comparison.

I agree with you. The bimmers were better in cornering and handling... I'll buy the 3 series if they were priced the same with the IS 350. The IS had to be priced lower and so called "options" should be standard so it will be really competitive with the 3.
