LA/Orange County area - restaurant connoisseurs. help!

does anyone know of a good place to go to with a small party (4 ppl) where we can get dressed up and not look like we just went to prom?

check out www.zagat.com for a thorough list.. however if you could narrow down the exact area you're in I'd be better able to help you. I've been to a couple hundred restaurants in LA/OC and I do research on good places to eat all the time.

there's plenty of really nice restaurants around the South Coast Mall/OC Performing Arts Center area.

as far as area goes.. i guess pasadena (or nearby), newport beach, or N. orange country

Hm. I've only been living here 22 years, but AFAIK, Pasadena = Nowhere near Orange County..

Newport beach - Cheesecake Factory, 21 Oceanfront, The Ritz
All are great places to eat and you wouldn't be out of place in a suit.

3 of us are in OC. the 4th lives near pasadena. that's why.

pasadena is way far from orange county.

go to La Cienega in Los ANgeles. Restaurant Row. THey have great places to eat there.

or go to PACIFIC DINING CAR - the meat there is mmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!

You guys like steak? I do! There's Ruth Chris Steak house off Michelson and Jamboree in that shopping center. I like to go there alot. (I went to UCI and live in the area still).

Steaks will run you I think about $20/piece. Gotta get the filet mignon. Its a little noisy in there.

I like Oysters at the end of MacArthur and PCH. Its close to Fashion Island. Gotta love raw oysters.

Where else. There's Villa Nova (PCH), Royal Thai Cuisine (PCH), Sam Woo's(Culver), Cheesecake in the Spectrum, PF Changs in the Spectrum, email me or PM if you want more ideas.

Edit: Oh yeah Pasadena. There's a place called Mi Piace. nice place. There's also a steak house there. Can't remember the name right now. Jsut ask someone what the steakhouse in Old Pas is called.
