The name is absurd and I'm not sure what I think of the looks, but the performance sounds amazing. Check out http://www.laferrari.com/en/ - they already have a great teaser video and a lot of detailed info, pictures and videos about the features. Interestingly it has underbody active aero, which I don't recall ever seeing on a road car before. The seat is integrated with the chassis, custom for the owner and fixed, so the pedals and steering wheel are both adjustable. Apparently it's 5 seconds faster than an Enzo around Fiorano.
Ford patent lawsuit in 3... 2... 1...
Think F150 was only a code name because they've already backed down from Ford once within a single day of being notified that a lawsuit was incoming when they tried to use the F150 name last time. Funny, but not nearly as neat as the old Ford revenge methodology: build a car to beat the best Ferrari.
Ferrari lost my complete interest when they went away with Manuals.
Testarossa/F40/GTO will probably remain my favorite Ferrari of all time.
PS. I don't mind the new styling. It's ok. Little too busy/over the top for my tastes..
I too am a manual transmission guy (I own two cars with a manual at the moment and have only ever owned one automatic car), but unfortunately the manual-transmission ship has sailed when it comes to high-end sports cars. The fact that the GT3 is PDK-only is an even better illustration of that than what Ferrari has done. DCGs have gotten too good and the market for true manuals is too limited.
