He has been the NL's closer for the All Star Game a lot, dont remember how many times.

Considering he's been in the all star game once, and never as a national leaguer, you don't have much credibility.

Actually, Baseball Reference says that he's a 3-time all-star (2002-2004).....all as a national leaguer as he's been on the Dodgers his whole career.

He was refering to Isringhauson being in the allstar once.

And if you don't think Gagne is the top closer for the past 3 yrs, then you haven't been following baseball.

My bad, I misread. Izzy is very good, but Gagne has been much better over the last 3 years. How can you argue with 84 consecutive saves and a Cy-Young as a closer? Throw in there an ERA of less than 2.20 and 100+ K each year and you have a dominating closer.

Some pitchers have actually been STRONGER after Tommy John surgery.
Yes because the new ligaments are in much better shape than the ones they replace. If the surgery goes well it's not unusual for a pitcher to gain a couple of mph on this fastball. :)

I hope it will be the case for Gagne..seriously....The DoDgers need him badly

No, the Dodgers need quality starting pitching....
Brazoban has been just as good starting the season before Gagne came back.
They haven't gotten crap from the fifth starter.
Penny was out beginning of the season.
Perez is out now.
Weaver and Lowe been inconsistent as best.
This is why they have been losing.
