Today my co-worker and I stopped at one of the local Mexican food resturants for lunch. Without a doubt this is one of our favorite places to eat when we are downtown. The food and service is usually muy excelente. About 10 min after the waitress took the order the food arrives. We took a few bites then the waitress and manager each walked by to ask if everything was ok, which at the time it was. A few moments later I heard a "ugh...." and my buddy pulled a 2" cockroach from his chile relleno. Needless to say I lost my appetite and I was just getting started. The waitress came over so I asked her to look on his plate. Her eyes got really big and she took the plate to the manager who was 20ft. away, then they both stormed into to the kitchen. It took several minutes for the waitress to even come back to our table. After she returned she started to ask if my buddy wanted anything else but I interrupted her, then politely said we both weren't hungry anymore and we were going to leave. She proceeds to says that they just sprayed for roaches, and that every resturant in Americal has issues with roaches. Personally I think she was still in shock and just making excuses which was very annoying. While there is truth to her statement the biggest problem is what you don't see usually doesn't bother you. This whole time the manager never once came to our table for a followup. I just wish this could have happened at one of the not-so-good places in town. :p What would you do?

*vomits uncontrollably* I have an extra hatred for roaches, I used to do pest control, and let's just say I have looked into the depths of hell....

Two inches sounds like a waterbug. They pop up from drains, as we only see things smaller then half an inch crawling around here. If I experienced that, I could not eat there again, even though I know it wasn't from an infestation, & that it's nearly impossible to be bug free.

Found a maggot in some Chinese food from a supermarket once... among the rice... who knows how many of the chewy little things I ate...

I have been in houses where there were patches of paint that was viseable and that's it, the rest of the walls and ceiling, and inside of cabinets, closest, furniture etc. were crawling with them. They were falling off the walls and ceiling onto me there were literally millions in a single home.

I am in Texas and very familiar with roaches. :)

A waterbug can just be a large cockroach. I'm just saying that more times then not, those appear from pipe drains, & not from a present infestation. The place could be spotless, but a random roach just crawled up the sink.
