Alright, well up until about a week ago everything was fine.

However, now my mouse "freezes" intermittently in game. I can still walk/strafe perfectly fine, but trying to turn while doing so doesn't work, ranges from between less than 1 and 3 seconds...

Mouse: MX Revolution (batteries are full, no "freezing" on the desktop at all
KB: Logitech Illuminated Keyboard
CPU: Q9300
GPU: ATI 4830
Ram: 2x2GB OCZ DDR2
HDD: 150GB Raptor
PSU: 550W Antec TP2.0
DoubleSight DS-265W monitor

So.. what gives? I'm on wireless, but pings are fine. Also my FPS never dips below 40... usually pegged at 60.

I heard something about video card drivers not being able to redraw the cursor in 3D mode sometimes... should I upgrade to 9.4s (I'm on 9.3s right now).

I just don't understand why it broke recently...

Thanks for any help.

No, I haven't; I was under the impression that the mutlicore stuttering caused the WHOLE game to stutter/exhibit audio looping. My audio is fine, everything it is fine but sometimes I can't turn left/right/up/down. And this problem is recent.

I guess I can try tomorrow and report back...

This actually probably is the issue; I recently upgraded to a 1920x1200 monitor (from 1680x1050), and I think that's when the issue started occuring. Double buffering is on, maybe my vid card is getting a little behind itself. I'll try this first, if it doesn't work, I'll try disabling multi core. I'll report back later this weekend.

Thanks.

Yeah, I go with the fps_max command instead of vsync. Does the job and avoids the lag.

there could be interference with your mouse and something else. I know for my g7 mouse i would get random interference which would cause things like you have mentioned. I have since then switched to a g9 wired mouse and have had zero issues.

i would recommend trying a wired mouse and seeing if the problem still exists.

Hate to state the obvious, but do you have a dog or cat hair stuck in the mouse optics? I have a Golden and an Eskie and that's a constant problem for me.

This happens to me quite a bit Daverino. If I ever have mouse issues, first thing I do is blow on the bottom and look for any foreign objects in there.

Interesting, that is exactly what I do to after an all-night blow/orgy party.

Mouse works fine on the desktop; double checked and there's no problem.

my wireless router interfered with my wireless mouse until i changed the channel

As mentioned, mouse works fine on desktop, can't see why router would be causing a problem only when I'm in a game.

I guess I can try, but again... see above.

SP mode does the same. Tried CS:S same problem. Haven't tried non-source games yet.

VSYNC and multicore didn't do anything to rectify the situation. :\
