I can get the L2335 from HP - 23" S-IPS panel or the 2405FPW from Dell.

The problem is that yes the L2335 is S-IPS so it has a lower delay (ms) and somewhat better color reproduction, but it's 1" smaller and costs about 100 - 200 dollars more. While the 2405fpw definately costs less and is a little bit bigger. I'm just afraid that the "input lag" or delay that many users are complaining about is an issue. At the same time though, a lot of people are saying it really isn't that bad.

Does anyone here have any experience with both of these monitors?

I just honestly don't know which to buy.

I don't have any experience with the 2405.
I have the L2335, and as it's my first LCD panel, I think it's great.
Haven't had any issues that bothered me playing games (and I play almost all the genres), using to play console systems, or my vid card.
Only gripes I have with it is:
A: no USB ports
B: No support for 480p (only 720p and 1080i). This sucks since most HD xbox games are 480p.
C: Input change is really slow. Say I turn off my xbox and want to switch to PC input, I better switch first, or else it will detect no signal and go to power save mode before it lets me change it.
D: PIP only works with Composite/S-Video/Component as source... ie. I can't pause a game and switch the PIP on to check an incoming IM.

If it weren't for the banding problems on the 2407, I'd probably have gotten one. Too bad the 2405's aren't available anymore.

whaaa? No 480P? That is VERY strange that it doesn't let you do that while allowing the HD modes.

I've actually used both of these monitors (the 2304 though, the same thing as the L2335 but with speakers & I own a 2405). To be honest, you're going to be pretty blown away no matter which one you pick. I say just go with whatever has the lower price and you'll be satisifed (I've actually seen the L2335 on ebay for very cheap). The functionality and ease of adjustment on the 2405 makes it very nice though. As for response time, the difference between the two ever so slightly favors the L2335. Gaming was fine on both monitors though for me, but then again my eyes aren't too picky. As for that 1" difference, I wouldn't even factor it in.

I got the L2335 before the 2405 even came out and love it. I agree w/ comments from both of the above posters. I play games, watch dvds and run cable into it. No issues other than at the time, it was quite pricey. Can't go wrong with either.
