I was wondering if any one knew what speed (in ns) the l2 cache chips were on a Athlon 900?

actually, on classic athlons greater than 850mhz, the multiplier was dropped down to 1/3. To get the NS rating, you need to take the inverse of its clock speed, or 1/300mhz (because the clock is 1/3 of 900mhz), which turns out to be 1/300,000,000 which is 3.33 (repeating) NS. So you're pretty much garunteed to have cache that is rated for, at worse, 3.3 NS. Chances are, you have something better.

Well, I know that when they make cache chips, like everything else, they do have a bit of tolerance...but quite frankely, I'm suprised they'd do it that far. I thought that 3.4 would be the slowest that they'd do...sheesh.

Well, I guess you got cache chips with a crappy ns rating :(.
