 as the title implies i have a question related to L2 cache with the xp2600+. it's more of a performance question but....anyway. the barton model with 512KB L2 cache has a 1.9Ghz clock speed and the thoroughbred model has a 256KB L2 cache with a clock speed of 2.08Ghz. my question is with that extra L2 cache will the barton outperform the thoroughbred even with the drop in CPu speed or do they just equal each other out. and also what, if anything, will change when the CPU is under above normal stress? (hahaha, that looks like a word problem)

and if that was a dumb question then just DEAL with it :p

thanx ahead of time.

It depends on what you're doing. Overall it averages out. If you're not so sure, get the Barton version and overclock it :)
